Nearly half of buyers with children under the age of 18 cited the quality of the school district as an important factor when choosing a neighborhood, according to the 2010 National Association of REALTORS® Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers.
When asked which factors they were willing to compromise on, just 3% of survey respondents were willing to compromise on the quality of the schools. A quarter listed proximity to top schools as a deciding factor in their home purchase.

What are the best schools in the Tampa Bay area? The Florida School Accountability Reports also show school grades, school improvement ratings, AYP results and school report cards. Each of the measures contains flaws and there are critics on all sides of the standardized testing debate. Websites such as GreatSchools.org and Education.com also show school rankings, student-to-teacher ratios, average education spending per student, demographics and other information on Tampa Bay schools.
MLS School Data
Some Tampa Realtors include data about the schools for each property while others do not.
Realtors may omit school assignments to avoid potential lawsuits if the data is inaccurate or changes over time. Hence, we recommend using the Search By Schools feature to learn which neighborhoods to target, then use the Search By Neighborhood to see all homes for sale.
