Title Agency
Local Tampa Bay real estate customs have the seller paying for the owner’s title policy and therefore selecting the title company. Your first contact with the title agency is normally with an Escrow Officer or Title Officer. The Title Officer may rely upon a Title Processor who assembles all the documentation and usually orders the home warranty, survey, estoppel letter, loan payoffs, etc. The title processor works with the Title Underwriter behind the scenes to ensure a clean chain of title.
